Bush Flatscreen Rebate

All: I have not talked to my accountant yet about this, but here is the quandry: If you file your income tax late (as I always seem to do for 401k issues I have), then is it true that you will not be able to partake in the george bush 2100 dollar flat screen tax rebate? Somebody please advise as to whether we can still get the flatscreen rebate. Or if certain of us even qualify. I want another free flatscreen.

Brian and all,

Here's the scoop. If you filed your tax return DIRECT DEPOSIT, on time (yours truly), you should get a check on the following dates according to your last 2 numbers in your SSN:

00-20
May 2nd

21-75
May 9th

76-99
May 16th

If by snail mail, give about 2 weeks extra.

If you are earning above 75K for single, or 150K married, you may have to wait and see what is left over after all the folks get paid.

Quick answer is qualifying folks should get $600 per parent, and $300 per kid under 17.

More info, you can go to:
http://www.irs.gov/index.html

Hope that helps.

Well, I wont disclose a lot of personal stuff, but I will have to wait to get a flatscreen for Patricio. Joe, if you wanted to be nice, you would share your flatscreen rebate with your favorite nephew Patricio, and go ahead and put your money toward his flatscreen. Its what DWBYA would want, after all.
