A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Reinassance Man
I just found this quote from famed SF writer Robert Heinlein (Stranger in a Strange Land), and found it awesome. When it all pops off and we're living in the hills, fighting tribal style, you'll see.....

I would have also included serve others, be spiritually sound & strengthen ones community...
Good additions.
His list seems to be composed of more "practical", wordly matters. If you've ever read any Heinlein, you'd know he is greatly concerned with the metaphysical as well.
I Grok ya, buddy...I really liked that book.
I'd add something to do with organizing people to work toward some sort of common good.
